Animal Sciences

The Cornell University Department of Animal Science has active extension programs for young producers of dairy, beef, sheep, goats, swine, poultry and horses. In addition, the youth extension program provides for the interests of many of its clients in pet animals such as dogs, cats and rabbits.

The 4-H mission in NYS is to connect youth to hands-on learning opportunities that help them grow into competent, caring, contributing members of society. In the Animal Science program, rural, suburban and urban young people enjoy animal-related projects that enhance knowledge and skills in biology and production systems, as well as encourage personal development.
