Juneberry U-Pick

What are Juneberries - also called the Saskatoons in mid-western Canada and the Serviceberry in Pacific West.

Juneberries are dark, purple berries slightly larger than blueberries but little firmer. The flavor has a hint of apple and cherry mix and tiny seeds inside have a hint of almond essence. 

They have many health benefits! Having less water content then blueberries, they pack more fiber, protein, calcium, vitamins and antioxidants. They are used for pies and jams but they are healthiest when eaten fresh. They can also be frozen for consumption in winter months. If you have a dehydrator, you can also dry them and use them in your granola throughout the year.    

They are easy to pick since you don't have to bend and they add up quickly in the harvest container. Here are the berry U-Pick farms to get your Juneberries:
