Family Fishing Derby - Homestead for Hope

Grab your pole & bring the family out for the Inaugural Homesteads Fishing Derby at the Homestead for Hope Community Farm that sits on the historic stretch of the Erie Canal in Ogden NY! 

This event is a collaboration between Cornell Cooperative Exstention of Monroe County and Homestead for Hope, for-non profit organization. You'll learn things that will last a lifetime! Prize Categories, Raffles, Educational Support, Yard Games, Vendors and much more! The event is rain or shine so make sure to wear boots, rain gear & bring your own chair & fishing pole!

Here are our educational, fun displays:

  • Rain Barrels set-up demo (Rochester Museum and Science Center) 
  • Live Rabbit display (NY Rabbit and Cavy Breeders Association)
  • Live Llama - Llamas & their uses (Llama Owner) 
  • Vermiculture (CCE Master Gardeners Program)
  • Garden Composting for everyone, (CCE Ag Education)
  • Growing Cut Flowers - local CSA owner

- NYS DEC Free Fishing Days, NO FISHING LICENSE REQUIRED
- For handicap parking considerations please arrive at 9:30am for accommodations

The competition categories are: Most Colorful, Heaviest, Longest, Smallest & Most Fish Categories. Prizes for each category!


Fee

$20 for Adults, Kids 10 and under are FREE
