4-H and the American Sewing Guild are together offering a beginner-friendly sewing camp for kids, ages 9-15 years. Sewing is a great way for kids to express themselves and to experiment with their creativity.
Making a wearable or usable item allows everyone to feel success, building confidence and self-esteem. Oh, and did we mention it can be fun too!
The sewing camp will be beginner and intermediate friendly. Students will learn to use a sewing machine and make multiple projects that they can show off to friends and family. We will work on projects including small bags, a pillowcase, a drawstring backpack, and PJ pants. The projects include a community service project the kids will give away they are done.
At our sewing camp, we will have a student to teacher ratio of 1:1 as the hands-on nature of our sewing camp means that students will use needles, pins, scissors, sewing machines and irons. Safety is of the utmost importance at our sewing camp and we follow strict rules to make sure our camp is as safe as possible.
We are excited to teach your children the important life skill of sewing this summer!
Limit is 10 registered youth. Registration link is below. 4-H membership is not required to participate.
