The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County is currently working in partnership with the Marketview Heights Collective Action Project, The University of Rochester, and the City of Rochester for a Tree Canopy Initiative targeted in the Marketview Heights neighborhood. The goal of this project is to plant 30 trees in the neighborhood (at no cost to the recipient), with the intention of improving the air quality, reducing temperatures, and providing habitat for wildlife.
After a summer of canvassing, we are excited to announce that we will be hosting two neighborhood meetings for residents of Marketview Heights to learn more about the selected tree species' and next steps in the project! These meetings will take place on October 30 and November 20, from 3:30-4:30 pm, at School 45. Representatives from CCE Monroe, the City of Rochester, and the Marketview Heights Collective Action Project will be in attendance to answer any questions or concerns that residents may have.
