Expand your knowledge of keeping bees! Learn the basics of beekeeping, how to handle bees, the diseases, pests, and predators of bees, managing your colonies, and finally! how to harvest that honey! Finish the workshop series with a field trip to an apiary. You will have the opportunity to attend the Rochester Beekeepers group meetings, where you can network and learn from area beekeepers.
WHERE: Hansen Nature Center, Tinker Park 1585 Calkins Rd, Pittsford, NY 14534
5 classes plus a field session working bees in the apiary; LIMIT 24 participants
WHEN: Meets Saturdays from 10am-12:30; except for the first class, the Rochester Beekeepers group meets from 1-3pm at the same location, followed by an apiary inspection, you are welcome to attend
