Learning the production of garlic requires plant-specific knowledge and the human interventions it requires for it’s cultivation. Unlike many horticultural, plants where a seed is planted and a crop is harvested, garlic has specific labor demands. This class will be a BASIC introductory level.
We will discuss all aspects of the plant & walk through its life cycle from fall soil preparation to summer post harvest. We’ll have printed information and lots of time for your questions and discussion. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Gillie Brook Farm to see what this stinky stuff looks like and get our hands dirty helping finish the harvest and dissect some fat juicy bulbs!
