2020 Gathering of Gardeners Symposium

  • Saturday, April 25, 2020, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

The Gathering of Gardeners Symposium is a day-long event meant to inform, excite and inspire both experienced and new gardeners on various horticultural topics.

The event will be held again at RIT Inn and Conference Center, 5257 W. Henrietta Rd., Henrietta, NY 14467.

This year's featured speakers are Michael Shadrack (left) and Eric Hsu (right):

Michael Shadrack (left) has been a member of The American Hosta Society since 1986 and is currently president of the Western New York Hosta Society. Mike has been growing hostas since 1986 and has been trying to hybridize almost as long. He and his wife, Kathy, maintain a large collection of modern cultivars at their Smug Creek Gardens.

Eric Hsu (right) became plant information coordinator at Chanticleer Garden in 2011, and before that worked with some of the most prestigious woody-plant collections in the Eastern United States. Eric is a frequent contributor to "The Plantsman," the respected quarterly published by the Royal Horticultural Society in the United Kingdom.

All proceeds of this event will be used by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County to support all of its programs.
