What is the 4-H Veterinary Science Career Exploration Program?

The 4-H Veterinary Science Career Exploration Program gives high school students (grades 9-12) an opportunity to explore veterinary careers and develop skills with experienced animal professionals.

In this 8-session series, participants will:

  • Gain Insight into Veterinary Science Careers
  • Explore Animal Health and Behavior
  • Develop Skills with Experienced Professionals

Where does the program meet?

For 2020, all sessions will be held virtually through Zoom.

Is there a program fee?

The program fee is $75.00* due with registration. Since we are not able to meet in person, we are offering this program at a greatly reduced price.

Financial assistance is available for families with demonstrated need.
*Registration fee must be paid in full prior to the first session of the program.

Nov. 2: Health Maintenance, Dr. Ian Wetherly, Haverstraw Animal Hospital (Retired)

Nov. 9: Cat Care and Handling, Dr. Maureen Saunders, Cat Care Clinic of the Nyacks & Spring Valley Animal Hospital

Nov. 16: Anatomy & Physiology, Dr. Linda Atkins & Dr. Patricia Collins, Valley Cottage Animal Hospital

Nov. 23: Case Studies in Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Kenneth Byman, North Rockland Animal Hospital

Nov. 30: A “Day in the Life” of a Veterinarian, Dr. Michael Goldmann, Nanuet Animal Hospital
