Why participate in 4-H?

Have you ever asked yourself, "what do the four H's stand for in 4-H?"

-

4-H is a worldwide youth development program open to all youth ages 5 to 19, who want to have fun, learn new skills, and explore the world. In return, youth who participate in 4-H find a supportive environment and opportunities for hands-on or “experiential” learning about topics that interest them.

-

Join the 4-H team to explore what 4-H looks like in Monroe County. In-person and virtual resources and activities available to families will be explored. This is a program for the whole family, with each session including a fun, hands-on activity!

-

To fit a variety of schedules, we are offering two virtual Open Houses with the same content, one in the morning and one in the evening.

-

During the hands-on activity, youth will learn engineering skills while learning about plant biology in the "Build a Seed" activity. To join in at home, please gather the following items for use. You will scissors, tape, and an assortment of materials you may have on hand at home, such as paper, tissue paper, paperclips, string, straws, etc.

-

*Current 4-H families are encouraged to participate as well.*
