Curbing Our Carbon Appetite Challenge

Curious to explore climate change with your family? Join Monroe County 4-H for the Curbing our Carbon Appetite Challenge!

In this program, Monroe County teen leaders will share ways we can reduce our carbon footprint and help youth understand the effects of higher levels of atmospheric carbon on Earth’s temperature with hands-on activities and demonstrations. In this collaborative and interactive challenge, youth can expect to:

Explain how human activities increase atmospheric carbon and contribute to climate change.

Plan a carbon-friendly meal by selecting foods with low carbon footprints.

Identify carbon-friendly actions that agriculture, business and industry, and individuals and families can take to reduce atmospheric carbon.

Identify STEM/agriculture careers that connect to the environment and to carbon reduction.

This is a free virtual event for any interested youth in 3rd-8th grades. The registration deadline is April 25, 2021.
