A simple definition of soil health is ‘its capacity to function’. A healthy soil allows for a good water infiltration and retention, nutrient circulation and the root to support to growing plants. At this demonstration, the an array of soil samples from rock-hard clay, fluid sands to delicious compost will be presented and the microscopic observation set up for the audience of all ages. The participant will learn about the latest research of ‘no-till’ farming practices and how they can apply it to their own gardens.
The event is scheduled every first Saturday of the month April – June, 11am – 2pm.
