Soil pH Submission Form

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County offers soil analysis for Texture, pH, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium (NPK) that includes fertilizer recommendations and recommendations for soil amendments if needed.

Samples can be brought into our office Monday - Thursday between 9 AM - 4 PM or 9am - Noon on Fridays. Make sure the soil sample is labeled with your name. The submission form can be downloaded or filled out in our office. Samples can be mailed to our office or dropped off on our side porch after hours.

Samples must include a submission form and cash or check for $15.00 made out to CCE Monroe

The reliability of a soil test is only as good as the sample you submit. Collect at least one cup of soil from the area where plant roots would be (for example, turfgrass roots are generally 2-4 inches below ground, whereas tree or shrub roots may be much deeper) and place in a clean container. Be careful not to touch your soil sample with bare hands as this may impact the results. Avoid submitting rocks, roots, sticks, or other debris with your soil sample.

A soil test does not explore insect, disease, or other cultural plant problems. You may first want to contact our Garden Helpline (585-753-2555) if you have any plant specific questions.

A more comprehensive nutrient analysis is available from Dairy One in Ithaca, NY.
