Soil Sample Submission

Our Soil Test Includes:

• Soil pH
• Soil Texture
• Soil Type
• Soil N:P:K levels 

Please NOTE - we do not test for heavy metals

The result includes recommendations for fertilizer and amendments to improve the soil health. 

Payment: Each soil sample is $15.00 for cash/check and $16.00 for credit card. 

Taking a soil sample:

The reliability of a soil test is only as good as the sample submitted. Before you bring your soil, read HOW TO TAKE A SOIL SAMPLE

Submitting your sample:

• In person - see our office hours below:
  • Summer Hours: Mon - Thur 9 AM - 4 PM, Friday 9 AM - 12 PM
  • Fall & Spring Hours: Mon - Fri 9 AM - 4 PM
• By postal mail
• By using our after-hours drop box (on the side porch)

Please label the soil sample with your name and include a completed copy of the SOIL SUBMISSION FORM. We can email the Form to you. Email monroe@cornell.edu to request it. 

A soil test does not explore insect, disease, or other cultural plant problems. You may first want to contact our Garden Helpline (585-753-2555) if you have any plant-specific questions.
