Seniors learning about healthy eating

Seniors at the Chili Rec Center learn about healthy eating.

County Nutrition Program

CCE Monroe is grateful for Monroe County's support to expand nutrition education to parts outside the SNAP-Ed demographic - to include all Monroe County residents. Strategic funding has allowed our team to reach residents who are desperately in need of nutrition and health education but have been excluded due to stringent USDA funding restrictions.

The County Nutrition program provides skill-based nutrition education classes and events in local communities on all topics accessible through the SNAP Education program including: healthy eating on a budget, smart shopping for vegetables and fruit, healthy meal planning, basic cooking and food safety skills, weight control and physical activity. The goals include: eat more fruits and vegetables; drink less sugar-sweetened beverages; exercise more and balance calories eaten as part of a healthy lifestyle.

The CCE-Monroe nutrition team has established strong partnerships with local food banks, farmers’ markets, community organizations, schools, and health organizations. You can find our County Nutrition team throughout all areas of Monroe County from Hamlin to Webster, Greece to Rush...and every town in between.
