Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County’s Garden Outreach Educator Rachel DeVona and Harvest New York Vegetable Specialist Lori Koenick for a hands on evening learning about the benefits of growing wine cap mushrooms in your garden! We will explore what our fungal friends need to thrive in our garden space and inoculate a wine cap yard together. In this introductory workshop, participants will...

Learn some mycology basics and journey into the wonderful world of fungi.

Learn about different mushroom cultivation methods

Participate in prepping and inoculating a garden bed in a city community garden. Materials supplied.

Connect and share with fellow Rochester mycophiles.

Receive educational handouts to help launch your home mushroom projects.

We recommend you bring a water bottle and come dressed for the weather, this is an outdoor rain or shine event!

Workshop co-facilitator, Lori Koenick is a certified Community Mushroom Educator and Extension Support Specialist with CCE Harvest NY and Cornell Vegetable Program.
