Guided Tree Identification Walk Tour

Join the Douglass Library, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County, and the City of Rochester Forestry Department for a guided tour of South Wedge trees, sponsored by the City of Rochester Forestry Department! A Natural Resources Educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension and a member of the City of Rochester Forestry Department will guide participants through the neighborhood. Along the way, you’ll learn the basic concepts of tree identification and discover key features to look for, including leaves, bark, tree shape, and canopy structure.

The approximately 1-mile walk will begin and end at the Douglass Library. We’ll wrap up by making tree buttons using leaves collected during the walk!

This free program is perfect for all ages. Registration is encouraged.
