Volunteer & Internship Opportunities

Cornell Cooperative Extension provides the local community a range of agricultural knowledge and resources through various outreach services and programs. Our area is unique as it encompasses urban, suburban and rural settings which all host a variety of agricultural activities.

Area farmers provide meat, vegetable, fruit, dairy, maple syrup, and flower products. The whole family can enjoy these local gems from businesses, offering an array of services such as U-pick and farm tours to watching maple syrup being made. The positive impacts from buying local are immense!

Cornell Cooperative Extension provides area agricultural interests with the knowledge, information, and resources needed to promote the continued development of agriculture, which benefits us all.

  • On farm customer surveys
    • Collecting customer feedback to examine the factors that influence their satisfaction, determine visitor demographics, duration of their stay and the amount of money they spend.
    • Keying the information in to the database
  • "Customer Survey Report at U-Pick Farms in the Greater Rochester Area": Our intern, Lauren, a college senior at SUNY Brockport in the Department of Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation & Tourism, traveled to local U-Pick farms to assess customer satisfaction with U-Pick experiences. We shared the information collected from the survey to farmers looking to increase, start, or improve their U-Pick operations.
